This Pakistani Noodles recipe is a perfect fusion of flavors that will appeal to all age groups. Easy to make and full of vibrant spices, this dish is ideal for lunch or dinner.

  • 200 grams noodles (preferably egg noodles)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 1 small capsicum, sliced
  • 1 cup cabbage, thinly shredded
  • 1 cup boneless chicken, cut into strips (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon chili sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste

Step 1: Cook the Noodles

  1. In a large pot, boil water and add a pinch of salt.
  2. Add noodles and cook according to the package instructions until soft.
  3. Drain the noodles and rinse them under cold water to stop further cooking. Set aside.

Step 2: Stir-fry the Vegetables and Chicken

  1. Heat oil in a large pan or wok on medium heat.
  2. Add garlic paste and sauté until golden and fragrant.
  3. Add sliced onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until soft.
  4. If using chicken, add the strips to the pan and cook until tender.
  5. Add julienned carrots, capsicum, and shredded cabbage. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.

Step 3: Season the Noodles

  1. Add soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, and chili sauce (if using) to the vegetables and chicken. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
  2. Sprinkle black pepper, red chili flakes, cumin powder, and salt over the mixture.
  3. Add the cooked noodles and toss everything together, ensuring the noodles are well coated with the sauces and spices.

Step 4: Garnish and Serve

  1. Once the noodles are heated through and well mixed, remove them from the heat.
  2. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
