H.2: Ingredients:
- Bread Slices: 6-8
- Milk: 1 liter
- Sugar: 1 cup
- Condensed Milk: 1/2 cup
- Saffron Strands: A pinch
- Cardamom Powder: 1/2 tsp
- Ghee (Clarified Butter): 1/2 cup
- Chopped Nuts (Almonds, Pistachios): 1/4 cup
- Silver Leaf : Optional, for garnishing
- Rose Water: 1 tab sp
H.3: Instructions:
Preparation of Bread:
- Cut the bread slices into triangles or squares.
- Heat ghee in a frying pan and shallow fry the bread slices until they turn golden brown. Place them on a paper towel to absorb excess ghee.
Preparation of Rabri:
- In a deep pan, bring milk to a boil and then simmer on low heat until it reduces to half.
- Add sugar, condensed milk, saffron strands, and cardamom powder. Stir continuously to prevent the milk from sticking to the bottom.
- Cook until the mixture thickens into a creamy consistency. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Assembly:
- Arrange the fried bread slices in a serving dish.
- Pour the prepared rabri evenly over the bread slices, ensuring they are well-soaked.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top for an added crunch and flavor.
- Garnish with silver leaf (if using) and drizzle rose water for a fragrant touch.
Serving:
- Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the bread to absorb the rabri fully.
