Pakistani Shahi Tukra Recipe.

H:1; Pakistani Sweet Delight: Shahi Tukra Recipe


H.2: Ingredients:

  • Bread Slices: 6-8
  • Milk: 1 liter
  • Sugar: 1 cup
  • Condensed Milk: 1/2 cup
  • Saffron Strands: A pinch
  • Cardamom Powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee (Clarified Butter): 1/2 cup
  • Chopped Nuts (Almonds, Pistachios): 1/4 cup
  • Silver Leaf : Optional, for garnishing
  • Rose Water: 1 tab sp 

H.3: Instructions:

  1. Preparation of Bread:

    • Cut the bread slices into triangles or squares.
    • Heat ghee in a frying pan and shallow fry the bread slices until they turn golden brown. Place them on a paper towel to absorb excess ghee.
  2. Preparation of Rabri:

    • In a deep pan, bring milk to a boil and then simmer on low heat until it reduces to half.
    • Add sugar, condensed milk, saffron strands, and cardamom powder. Stir continuously to prevent the milk from sticking to the bottom.
    • Cook until the mixture thickens into a creamy consistency. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Assembly:

    • Arrange the fried bread slices in a serving dish.
    • Pour the prepared rabri evenly over the bread slices, ensuring they are well-soaked.
    • Sprinkle chopped nuts on top for an added crunch and flavor.
    • Garnish with silver leaf (if using) and drizzle rose water for a fragrant touch.
  4. Serving:

    • Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the bread to absorb the rabri fully.
    • Serve  enjoy the royal taste of Shahi Tukra, a perfect sweet treat for any occasion.
