Authentic Pakistani Kheer Recipe - Traditional Sweet Delight

Introduction:

  • 1 cup Basmati rice
  • 1 liter full-fat milk
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions:

    • Reduce the heat to low and let the rice cook in the milk, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
    • Allow it to simmer until the rice is soft and the milk thickens (about 30-40 minutes).
  4. Sweetening and Flavoring:

    • Stir in the sugar and condensed milk.
    • Continue to cook for another 10 minutes, ensuring the sugar dissolves completely.
    • Add the cardamom powder, saffron strands, and rose water, mixing well.
  5. Finishing Touch:

    • Add the chopped almonds and pistachios, reserving some for garnish.
    • Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the Kheer reaches your desired consistency.
  6. Serving:

    • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
    • Serve warm or chilled, garnished with the reserved nuts.
