Crispy Chicken Fries Recipe
Ingredients:
- Boneless Chicken Strips: 500 grams (cut into thin strips)
- All-Purpose Flour: 1 cup
- Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons
- Eggs: 2 (beaten)
- Breadcrumbs: 1 cup
- Salt: 1 teaspoon
- Black Pepper: 1 teaspoon (freshly ground)
- Paprika: 1 teaspoon
- Garlic Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Onion Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Oregano: 1/2 teaspoon (dried)
- Oil: For deep frying
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken:
- Start by washing the chicken strips thoroughly and pat them dry with a paper towel. This ensures the coating sticks well to the chicken.
Season the Chicken:
- In a large bowl, add the chicken strips. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano. Mix well, ensuring each strip is evenly coated with the spices. Let it marinate for 20-30 minutes.
Set Up the Breading Station:
- Take three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, add the all-purpose flour and cornstarch, mixing them together. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, add the breadcrumbs.
Coat the Chicken:
- Dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture first, ensuring it's completely coated. Shake off any excess flour. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess egg to drip off. Finally, coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well.
Frying:
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated chicken strips in batches. Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch. Make sure not to overcrowd the pan.
Drain and Serve:
- Once fried, remove the chicken fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
